I was finally able to get a nice photo of this shawl. Its the closest I can get to its true colors. I had to rip back when I realized I has been working on the wrong size. Not too bad. Just almost done. I really really want this finished this weekend so I can finally work on something new. I'm really sick of this thing. It the stripe study shawl. It uses short rows which was kinda strange but it does keep you engaged but can also be a mindless knit when you need it to be.

Nothing quite as frustrating as....
forgetting your knitting at work on a Friday. All weekend I’ve been getting this antsy feeling in my fingers. I wanted to start another project or continue working on the companion cube. I couldn’t figure out what new project to start and I wasn’t in the mood for the companion cube. The shawl I was working on had such a nice flow to it when I was working on it that I couldn’t get from a new project or such a highly focused project like the CC. It was the right kind of mindless-feels-good-in-your-hands-memorized-the-pattern feeling. ::sighs:: Oh well, the weekend is almost over. Its made me think about what I need to start knitting now for when winter time comes around, which will be here sooner than we’d like.

Ghetto Bobbins

I made them with pieces of cut up cardboard. They work a little better than the empty cigarette boxes I was using before.

Companion cube progress

well it looks like I had to do it over and over a few times. I was still getting holes and not quite getting the hang of twisting yarns. I got it down now, and probably about 1/3 of the way though. Should be an easy going knit now.

Toe up w/provisional cast on frustration

I've always avoided this one. I'm thinking about trying it, but it looks so unnecessarily complicated! I watched a video of a video making a toe with this cast on and I'm yelling at the video saying "ugh so stupid lady!" I do my toe ups with a turkish cast and increases. I think it has a smooth finish when I pace the increasing the right way. I've seen that you get "decorative holes" with provisional. I use to hate this about lace, I use to think "a hole is still a hole! hate it!" But I've changed that view. Well...I guess I should just do it to say I have. Or not. I dunno.
To be continued....
